| ITALICA Srl is a private own Italian Company based in the Bologna area, in the years specialized in the design, development and production of - high-productivity Blade Granulators for plastic materials sizing process, made in Italy -. Applications of Granulators concern the automatic volume reduction of plastics to small grains (1 cm), by a fine mechanical fragmentation process: the aim is to easily treat plastics to become suitable for recycling purposes (end-of-life items re-conversion with environmental and effective energy & cost-saving benefits) and to immediately re-insert scraps and just-produced plastic goods whether defective found in the line process same. The ITALICA patent concerns the design of the mill blade-rotor: some “star” sections, arranged on the power-shaft, are turn adjustable to form helical, forward/reverse-wedge shapes by the User itself, according to plastic parts characteristics. It is allowed therefore to reduce any kind and shapes, hollow and solid: vegetable/fruit containers / boxes, bottles, liquid / powder tanks, bulks, water/gas transport pipes/hoses, extruded profiles, extrusion / hot stamping feedheads, flashes, scraps, etc., by keeping the efficiency and productivity features at the top also: 1,500-2,500 Kgs/hr (Ciclope 800 model), 2,000-3,300 Kgs/hr (Ciclope 1000 model) at least, depending on the kind and shape of plastics to be treated. The biggest Ciclope 2000 model, currently under design finalisation, by means of its wide hopper’s window of 2.5 x 1.2 mt, will allow very large workpieces, like urban solid waste management bins, without any prior size reduction activity, with 6-8 Tons/hr of productivity featured. -Optional automatic belt-conveyor may feed the granulator’s hopper window automatically by plastic materials. Metal detector may prevent both granulator’s failures due to metal scraps/parts accidentally included into plastics: then it is avoided to contaminate granule’s quality and to reduce its value. -Optional pneumatic piping system, with vacuum motor fan and centrifugal cyclone, is designed for dust separation and to properly fill and store produced granule in big bags automatically, flanged to the granulator recovery pool. -Optional metal separator automatically checks produced granule and quickly removes small metal pollutants (ferrous and not ferrous materials). -Optional sound-proof cabin encloses the whole granulator, to keep the process noise reduced, as in case of indoor location.
